What is "United in Prayer"?
What is 'United In Prayer'?
United in Prayer is a national network of Catholics praying together in Unity for the benefit of Newman Centers and Catholic Campus Ministries all across the country. United in Prayer is the platform on which our company was founded. It is the very heart of our ministry. Heart Speaks to Heart. The network contains students, alumni, religious orders, chaplains, and lay supporters all united for one cause.
When you commit to take the pledge, we ask that you make an effort to pray on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. By uniting with us at this time, your prayers reach beyond just you. All of those in Unity also receive a personal blessing from Newman priests nationwide. Where else can you go to get that?
What are some practical models for praying in unity at Newman Centers?
The collaborative movement of prayer is to remind us of the need to pray. We have seen the power of prayer and the success of everyone coming together to pray for a common goal. Why not make a commitment to join this pledge and become part of this power.
How Can You Make a Difference and Unite in Prayer?
A commitment through taking the pledge is made by you to do your best to make a weekly attempt to pray with other students, individuals and pastors at your center. This praying happens two specific times during the week (Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.)
How do we structure these prayers?
What is so powerful is that we have asked that all priests send out a blessing to everyone 'in unity' which embraces and strengthens our prayer and our participation nationally. In addition, each center can choose to incorporate other types of prayers into this prayer time. Centers have prayed the rosary, have had a period of silence, and have asked the students to bring prayer ideas to their center.
Join today and become part of the power of prayer.
