Welcome to the John Paul II Newman Center online! We are grateful to our Newman Connection friends and partners for bringing us this opportunity to tell you about the Pope John Paul II Newman Center at the University of Illinois - Chicago.

Our Mission:

The John Paul II Newman Center bridges the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Church, as a living example of Catholic belief and service. The Newman Center convenes a conversation with all facets of Christian values,  social justice and ethics in order to nurture the next generation of civic and Church leaders. The John Paul II Newman Center provides a Catholic community in which all are welcome and all are encouraged.

Welcome Friends,

In case you haven’t stopped by in a while, we have been bustling with activity as the students go about intertwining their spiritual, academic and social lives with the Center. Be sure to check out our calendar of events, which is updated daily, to find activities coming up that you won’t want to miss. Also, the news and events pages have information on what we’ve been up to, from our Catholic Underground events to hosting a 33 foot tall statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary! Finally, if you are a member of our alumni, you won’t believe the new initiatives underway by and for alums and friends like you!

We at the John Paul II Newman Center hope you continue to help us to build upon our mission by incorporating ideas you bring to us. Please stop in at the Center  soon, and we look forward to welcoming you!

In Christ,

Rev. Patrick M. Marshall
